I grew up pretty close to Flint in the 90s and 2000s and it was still talked about with reverence. Older people in the area have a hodgepodge of contradictory ideas in their heads about unions because of the strong union history and prosperity on the one hand and the decades of anti-union propaganda and decline if Flint and Detroit on the other, but imo the sit down strike is the one event that everyone agrees rocks.

Peaceful resistance…..with enough people uniting, anything is possible. AND it is needed now more than ever.
