More like a successor. I want to take on the Carney cult, I truly fear not only that he is taking us down the wrong track but he will make it impossible for us to build the Canada we want. We are allowing the threat of Fascist Trump to militarize the economy, align ourselves with imperialism, undercut democracy and ignore equity, care and democracy. We are living through a dangerous moment of disaster capitalism. I loved your Star piece.

Pipe dreaming here, but maybe Avi Lewis can breathe some life back into the NDP. Imagine if people voted NDP for a change. It would be nice to have some form of proportional representation finally appear in Canada.
I think you are misinterpreting PM Mark Carney’s managing an extremely difficult situation , with a very anti social, very dangerous power monger in the USA.
The government of the day handled it ( Trump) well , with the CUSMA agreement , then. That’s when he had some traditional leadership around him to stop him.
Now, there are no stoppers for Trump, in the USA administration.
Sometimes it’s wise to not be truthful ( to actually lie) to an abuser ( to protect oneself - one’s country) , according to one author. I agree.
Sometimes , many times, you don’t telegraph your plans, or what you’re thinking. That’s wise, and a negotiating tactic.
Sometimes, you have to prioritize some policies to add to the country’s economic security, even if it goes against your own values.
Please note; Trump is waging economic war in order to literally break, and “conquer” Canada.
He’s fine taking what belongs to someone else.
I think you are doing some character assassination ( of PM Carney) , in your article. And I think it is harmful to Canada’s security, as a country. In my opinion.
